Adairto is a relatively new UK based compression clothing company.
About the Items
The adairto compression tops are their flagship item; developed over the course of a couple of years they’ve put a lot of thought into making sure it was the best they could produce. They have long and short sleeved options, and they’re only available in white at current.
Adairto sent us a long and short sleeved top to test out and give our opinion on.
Visuals
When it comes to compression tops aesthetics aren’t typically the highest priority; unlike rashguards and spats compression gear is made to be worn under your clothing, providing the numerous benefits of compression on performance and recovery. That being said, Adairto have clearly put consideration into what their product looks like and balance aesthetics and function well. The tops are completely white, apart from a grey mesh panel at the back of the neck. The Adairto logo and name are printed on the upper left side of the chest, and the logo is also printed on the left wrist of the long sleeved top. Shaped mesh panelling under both arms also adds to the the aesthetic by breaking up the lines of the product with different textures, whilst adding to the function of the top.
Materials/Craftsmanship
Like most compression gear Adairto have used a Nylon and Spandex blend (83% and 17% respectively) and they’ve definitely chosen to go for quality. These tops feel thicker than other ones I’ve used previously (such as the Under Armour ones we’ve previously reviewed), and this makes a noticeable difference in terms of compression. The moisture wicking nature of the materials means they dry quick, and the mesh panels help to make sure you stay cool during training. They’ve also made sure the craftsmanship is high quality, with all the seams reinforced and the printing all done well. I’ve not noticed any issues with the craftsmanship.
Comfort/use
I’ve been using these compression tops for nearly all my training recently, including striking, running and weightlifting, and they’ve performed well across the board. As I mentioned above you can really feel how much compression they offer compared to other brands, maximising the benefits you get from them. The seams are all made as flat as possible, to limit friction, and the flex in the material doesn’t hamper movement at all. Without a doubt though, my favourite thing about these tops is the little silicon strips fitted into the hems of the shirts. I’ve always loved using compression shorts and leggings, but I’ve never been happy with compression tops because I find they often roll up during training. Adairto have solved this with these high grip sections, it’s a tiny inclusion that makes a huge difference.
Cost
The rrp on both the long and short sleeved tops is £39.95 each, which obviously puts them at the more expensive end of the spectrum, but the quality is some of the highest I’ve seen from any compression clothing, and I’d highly recommend them if you’re in the market for high quality compression tops.
