We’re all counting down the days until we get to see some more action and it can be a challenge to keep track of what events are coming up. We’ve taken a look at the calendars for some of the major organisations for this week and put them together for you, so you can plan out your weeks viewing!
There’s no UFC on this weekend, last saturday’s match up between Stephen Thompson and Geoff Neal was the last event on the UFC’s 2020 calendar. The next UFC event, and first of 2021, is Holloway vs Kattar which is booked in for the 16th of January.
One Championship is bringing you a very special Christmas present this year, with ONE Championship: Collision Course II taking place on Friday the 25th. Like Collision Course I, the sequel features ONE’s usual mixture of competition, with four mixed martial art match ups and two Muay Thai fights. The main event is set to be fireworks, with Samy Sana taking on Jamal Yusupov. Sana is hoping to move up from number four in the featherweight rankings to take Yusupov’s number two spot and put himself in line for a title shot. Both fighters are aggressive and strong, so we’re excited to see the heat they’ll both be bringing. The other match up we’re excited for is Amir Khan vs Dae Sung Park – Khan holds the record for most KO’s in ONE history and is facing off against Park, a freestyle wrestler who secured his place on the ONE roster following a successful appearance on Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series. It promises to be an interesting challenge for Khan on his path towards the ONE Lightweight strap.
The full card looks like this:
Jamal Yusupov vs Samy Sana (Muay Thai)
Kairat Akhmetov vs Dae Hwan Kim (MMA)
Momotaro vs Walter Goncalves (Muay Thai)
Amir Khan vs Dae Sung Park (MMA)
Raimond Magomedaliev vs Edson Marques (MMA)
Senzo Ikeda vs Liang Hui (MMA)
Bellator don’t have anything planned for this week, their next event is Bellator 255 scheduled for the 1st of January but they’ve not announced the match up yet.
Invicta FC also don’t have any events planned for now – their last card was on the 20th of November, but following their rough schedule we can expect and event to get pencilled in for early 2021.
